Tickets & room reservations: 828-926-1717

What’s better for the soul than throwing a line upstream, watching it pass, doing it again, and again, and perhaps getting a bite? All anglers know that fly fishing isn’t only about reeling in the big one (although that always gets our hearts jumping!). Fly fishing is about being one with the river and its magnificent presence while witnessing a valuable ecosystem.

The Meadowlark Motel is offering a Fly-Fishing Camp weekends in the Smoky Mountains! Our goal is to bring like-minded people together through fly fishing, food, drink, stories, and a campfire.

Camp weekends are perfect for those new to fly fishing and those looking for some extra instruction, or anyone with experience who enjoys fishing in a small group and making new friends. Each trip is built around those attending and we all share in the experience. You can expect quality time on the river and nights around the campfire with a drink in hand. Truths and tall tales are all allowed at camp! Camps are limited to 20 anglers.

This is the ultimate guided outdoor fly-fishing experience; An outing that includes not only personal instruction and actual professional guided fishing, but also lodging at an Appalachian Chic resort, along with musical entertainment, a free BBQ dinner, a Speak Easy lounge, and a stocked trout stream located right on the resort grounds.

It is fishing fun that is suitable for ALL levels of angling expertise, led by elite, personable guides with over a half century of combined guiding experience.
This is a unique, once in a lifetime memorable adventure that includes four hours of professional, hands-on instruction, combined with four hours of intense guided fishing on some of the best trout fishing streams in Western North Carolina.

Can you imagine a fishing foray conducted on these legendary waters, ranging from small, pool jumping tributaries like Moses Creek deep in the Plott Balsams, to the Yosemite of the East, Panthertown Creek in Jackson County, to Snowbird Creek in Graham County, to the bigger, deeper, rushing, rocky waters of the storied Tuckaseegee, Oconaluftee, Pigeon and French Broad Rivers? Streams tucked deep in the iconic Great Smoky Mountains, and teeming with a wide variety of stocked and native trout – rainbow, brook and brown trout, many of them trophy sized specimens.

Sounds like a dream too good to be true—doesn’t it? Well, it’s not, and you can book all that and more, right now at our exclusive Fly-Fishing Camp scheduled for April 15-17, 2022. Your base camp for this once in a lifetime outing is the historic Meadowlark Motel and Smoky Mountain Heritage Center located in Maggie Valley, N.C. The goal for the Meadowlark operation is to provide unique and memorable experiences for our guests, while also promoting and perpetuating Smoky Mountain Heritage and culture through programs, seminars, and concerts.
